Over the years, HLSCC has touched the lives of many individuals who made the choice to choose HLSCC.  In many ways, our former students have contributed to building the nation in various capacities which we’re proud to share.

Thoughts about HLSCC

“Completing the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Certificate at HLSCC has empowered me to become a more effective employee in meeting my employer’s demands. The course provided me with the tools I needed to get the best out of my staff by building confidence, improving teamwork and performance, which resulted in greater customer satisfaction.

My HLSCC experience was great. We had awesome teachers who encouraged learning and made the sessions very interactive. This I appreciated since I am a person who dislikes sitting in an environment where you just listen to a lecturer. They encouraged feedback and welcomed all our questions.”

Life after HLSCC

“My leadership skills and attitude advanced dramatically after taking the CMI course at HLSCC. This was reflected in my work and resulted in my promotion from a supervisory position to the Parts Manager at Parts & Power Ltd. Having worked for the company for the past twenty two years now, my vested interest in the company is even greater now as a shareholder. Most recently, I have been tasked with strengthening our Sales Department and bringing new businesses from other Caribbean Islands.

Without my certifications at HLSCC I do not think that I would have been able to progress in my work as much as I have. I encourage everyone to choose a course or certification area that they love to enhance or jumpstart their careers. It will definitely be worth it in the end.”

Thoughts about HLSCC

“HLSCC was my introduction to higher education in 1995, straight out of high school, and I was able to strengthen the fundamental skills that I needed to succeed academically. Persons in the territory who are looking for a solid foundation can certainly benefit from enrolment at HLSCC.”

Life after HLSCC

“Following my very stint time at HLSCC, I relocated and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Morehouse College in 1999. Some few years later, I received a Master of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University in 2005. In 2014, I received a Master of Science in Diplomacy and International Strategy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Career-wise I have been an Analyst for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in Washington, DC, the Deputy Director of the BVI London Office and now currently the Director of the BVI London Office. My affiliations include being the UK/EU Representative in London for the BVI, a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and Co-Chair of the OCT-EU Financial Services Working Party in Brussels, Belgium.”
